Visit Buena Park
We said “Yes” to everything (Almost)- a 4-Day-Kid-Driven Buena Park Summer Vacation
For four days, we explored Buena Park, aptly named So Cal’s Fun City and all it had to offer (well, almost everything!),
The best part? Everything is conveniently located in one area, which made our trip smooth, stress-free, and jam-packed with memorable moments. Here’s a look at our 4-day itinerary—save this post for your next family trip!
☀️ Day 1: Water Park Fun & Medieval Adventure
Knott’s Soak City
📍 Knott’s Soak City
We kicked things off with a splash at Knott’s Soak City, a water park dream come true for summer. From lazy rivers to splash pads, there were options for every age—including our littlest ones. There’s fast water slides but also a splash park area that even my baby enjoyed.
Medieval Times
📍 Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament
At night, we stepped into another world at Medieval Times. The whole crowd gets into the event! You’ll cheer for knights in shining armor while enjoying a feast fit for royalty (no utensils, just fun!). It was a one-of-a-kind experience that had the whole family shouting and laughing. It was definitely unlike any dinner we’ve had before. This is a must!
🎢 Day 2: Thrill Rides & Famous Eats
Knott’s Berry Farm
📍 Knott’s Berry Farm
It wouldn’t be a Buena Park trip without visiting the iconic Knott’s Berry Farm. With rides and attractions for all ages, it’s easy to spend an entire day here. Our kids adored Camp Snoopy, while older family members got their thrills on the coasters. So much variety in one park!
📍 Portillo’s Hot Dogs
After a full day of adventure, we refueled at Portillo’s Hot Dogs. If you go, do not skip the chocolate cake shake—it’s legendary for a reason! This was a perfect family friendly dining spot. We loved eating outside.
☀️ Day 3: Good Eats, Games & Pirate Fun
📍 Broken Yolk Café
We started the day right with brunch at Broken Yolk Cafe. Whether you’re into sweet or savory, they’ve got you covered. It’s a great spot for picky eaters and foodies alike.
John’s Incredible Pizza
📍 John’s Incredible Pizza
Next up was John’s Incredible Pizza, where “all-you-can-eat” meets “all-you-can-play.” Think endless pizza, salad, desserts—and an arcade that our kids did not want to leave. It’s a perfect mix of food and fun.
Pirate’s Dinner Adventure
📍 Pirate’s Dinner Adventure
We ended the day with a swashbuckling good time at Pirate’s Dinner Adventure. Pro tip: Arrive early to meet the pirates before the show begins. The interactive experience, acrobatics, and lively performances were a huge hit with our crew! This was a highlight for my 7 year old. They even let the kids go on stage to become a real pirate during the show.
🎢 Day 4: Playtime & Shopping
PlayPie OC
📍 PlayPie OC
Our final day began at Play Pie, a spacious indoor playland with separate zones for babies, toddlers, and older kids. With your ticket, you can come and go throughout the day—which is so convenient for naps and snack breaks.
📍 The Source OC
We wrapped up our adventure at The Source OC, a trendy shopping and dining destination. From bubble tea to boutique shops, it’s the perfect place to explore, unwind, and snack your way through your last vacation day.
🏨 Where to Stay
We stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Buena Park, which was ideally located just minutes from all the attractions. Highlights included:
Complimentary breakfast
Spacious rooms (we had two connected!) Perfect for letting the baby sleep while others are still awake.
Pool and hot tub for relaxing after long days of fun
