Why Everline Resort Made Tahoe Feel Effortless with Kids

We stayed at Everline Resort & Spa in Olympic Valley over spring break, and by the time we left, we were already planning a summer trip back. It’s one of those places that just works with kids. Everything feels easy, and you’re not constantly trying to figure out how to fill the day because there’s already so much built in.

From the moment you walk into the lobby, it sets the tone. Big open space, that classic mountain lodge feel, and a huge fireplace that makes you want to sit down and stay for a bit. We found ourselves stopping there more than once just to relax for a minute before heading back out.

The room was exactly what we needed. Comfortable, spacious, and functional. Nothing over the top, but it made it easy for everyone to settle in without feeling cramped. Having that space to spread out made a big difference, especially with kids. If you can get a room with a kitchenette, it’s worth it. Being able to do quick breakfasts or snacks without leaving the room makes the whole trip smoother.

We spent a lot of time at the pool area. The heated pool was perfect even during spring break weather, and having three different hot tubs with mountain views made it feel more like an experience than just a place to swim. The kids could’ve stayed there all day, and honestly, we didn’t mind either.

At night, grabbing a s’mores kit and heading to the fire pits was one of our favorite things we did. Sitting outside, roasting marshmallows, with the mountains around you just felt like one of those simple, perfect moments. It’s the kind of thing that slows everything down in the best way.

What really makes this place stand out, though, is the experiences and activities they offer. There’s always something going on, which takes a lot of pressure off as a parent. One of the highlights for us was the Bear Factory. The kids got to pick out their animal, stuff it themselves, and make it their own. It ended up being such a fun experience, and now they each have a souvenir that actually means something from the trip, not just something we bought in a store.

There are also plenty of rentals and outdoor options right on-site depending on the season. During warmer months, you can rent bikes and explore the trails around the resort, which makes it easy to get outside without having to go far. In the winter, it’s ski-in and ski-out with rentals and everything you need right there. It really feels like you can just show up and have access to everything without overplanning.

The food on-site made everything even easier. We had dinner at Sandy’s Pub which was my personal favourite. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. It’s casual and relaxed, perfect with kids, but still really good. And don’t skip the mud pie. That was the standout and something we’re still talking about.

For breakfast, we went to Cascades, and this was another highlight. The view overlooking the mountains while you eat is such a good way to start the day. They have a full buffet with a little bit of everything, but what we especially loved was ordering custom omelettes. That became our go-to and made breakfast feel a little more elevated without being complicated.

There are also so many amenities that make it easy to stay on property the whole time. Between the pool, hot tubs, fire pits, activities, spa, and direct access to trails, you really don’t need to leave unless you want to.

We barely left, and it didn’t feel like we were missing anything. The kids were constantly entertained, and we actually got to relax, which is rare on a family trip. That’s probably the biggest reason we’re already planning to go back this summer. It just works.
