If you are looking for a local experience to make the most of spring break, the rides at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk are open daily now through April 19.
There is something so special about spending the day walking on the boardwalk and running around on the beach. The parking lot is $25 to park for the day, and admission to the boardwalk and beach is FREE! If you are coming for unlimited rides, purchase a wristband online in advance for the best price! You can also pay for individual rides and games.
Now until April 5, you can participate in the surfing bunny hunt for $10. Get your Bunny Map and visit 15 participating locations to collect your prizes. (Includes $8 Boardwalk card + collectable boardwalk bag)
Starting on March 30 you can swing by the Colonnade Stage Monday - Friday at 1PM, 2PM, 3PM and 4PM to watch the Surfing Magician! (*MONDAY – FRIDAY: MARCH 30 – APRIL 10, 2026)
I have 4 kids between the ages of 2-10 and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has been a place that each loves to visit. I got to ride the Giant Dipper with my oldest for the first time, which is such a special moment. I have been pleasantly surprised by how fast the lines move and how many rides that there are for little riders. From the carousel to the tea cups to the giant slide, we come and ride from open to close. Be sure to double check the calendar before your visit, as some weekdays are limited ride days.
You can bring your own food and snacks, but be sure to also enjoy some of the boardwalk classics. My kids love to spend the day riding rides and getting really excited for a special treat to end the night! In my opinion, every night of spring break should end with ice cream and watching the sunset on the beach.
